Incomplete pages…

Day 24/52

Incomplete…

My mind wonders
Just as my soul stares
If this were a glimpse, I wish I’d never have to glare
Could this be my incomplete story… A mere flare

The shortest of my days turned out to be the best
Found love in the darkest of places… in ages
A shortest meeting with stranger wouldn’t have hurt, but this one scribbled love lines on my heart’s sacred page
A light was lit, only to be taken…for it was never part of our mileage.

So now I hold half a book at hand, the other was taken
My ink!? It was splattered all over, just as my pen was broken
Then nights we shared, seem to be forcefully forsaken
I still wonder whether this one night story was meant to be incomplete or just hope for an inspiration.

Beautiful things don’t last they say… sadly… that’s life, it’s short, but if it’s short, and beautifully lived even in the dimmest and darkest of places, apparently that’s a life long lived…shortly. Worth a celebration. I normally take it out on my friends and tell them, the most brief moments in life, at times are the ones worth celebrating, because they bring out the best of us.

Poetry… At the start of this quest😁 (the 52 poems for 52 weeks of 2021… I do try catching up with time if I’ve lost any btw🙈) I said it was all about inspiration, why do we write poems, what inspires you to write a poem, where do you find what to write, why do you write, why should write, who do you write for and many more… it wasn’t to teach the techniques of writing poetry, how to write one et cetera et cetera, those are pretty easy to catch on with time, of course by reading other poets’ poems and literature on poetry… but today I want to hint about rhyming.

I’ll be honest, I don’t normally employ the rhyming technique in my poems. I do enjoy it though when I do. It gives me a pace to flow with, lines to go by, a diction to employ, and more.

Rhyming in a poem, sets a tone for the poem (though. if it’s spoken poetry, at times the tone is dependent on the pitch of poets’ voice), a beat for it, and musical lyrics to play with. Rhyming makes the rhythm of a poem flow, it becomes the heart of it all, and when it comes to spoken poetry, it becomes more lively and magical on performance if well practiced and mastered by the poet.

Well, on second thoughts, I do employ rhyming on a daily in all my poems, how? well, typically to rhyme doesn’t mean all you words at the end should look similar. Yes I just said that. To rhyme, means you give a rhythm to your piece, a beat to move with, air to wave it by… you give it life. Because if all these exist, your diction at the end of it all will correspond with each other, anyone else will detect it just as you intended to.

if you give it much thought, rhyming is part of life itself, in every thing we do. On a serious note btw.

About this poem? sometimes if not most of the time in life, as funny as it sounds and looks, the best moments we ever get to enjoy in life, are those we’ve had the shortest, because they create and as well influence our lives the greatest than any other we’ve ever had. They are the untapped magic living inside of us, the unexplored potential we’ve never known, and perhaps what we need to know, that life with all it’s imbalances, hustles, does get to give us a cherry to bite on, an apple to share, a flower to grow and hope to live.

These short moments, are the reason why life, though short, exists for us all. They are what make our rather incomplete pages, complete. They turn out to be the rhythm we never thought we might need.
