Worthiness…

I wasn’t worth, yet you still completed me.

Wasn’t perfect but still hang on to me

Saw the greater man in me when I couldn’t

What more could I do for you…

Than be grateful

Day 5/52

In every corner of the world, there’s always a clock ticking, that’s a law of nature.

Ever taken a look at the world around you? the green-ish you walk past, the leaves that are always praising the winds, the people you pass by, the person next to you? How many times do you applaud them for being there, right where you are? How often do you show your gratitude?

Often times, if you met me, you’d get to know that I’m a very outgoing soul that loves making acquaintances with everyone around. Always out to make fun and one thing that will always capture your attention… the smile that never leaves my face (why am I smiling to my self as I type out this bit šŸ¤”šŸ˜„) and definitely I always have a way of putting one on those next to me, always… and I also bet you are as well as you read through.

But even with that almost perfect smile, outgoing character and humor… I also have imperfections. Some I know, some I don’t. And weirdly (I believe this applies to most of us) with those that I don’t, if I’m confronted about them, I hardly ever admit them, as in, how is it possible? But then, there those who accept me for the person I am. People who choose to over look the imperfections and look up to what makes me shine, that doesn’t mean that these imperfections ain’t part of me, no, they are very much. But then it all goes back, how often do you appreciate these people that never give up on you? The people who see a light in you that you don’t?

As a young poet, when I chose my diction for this piece about two years ago, I chose simplicity. Simplicity for it’s how I thought best to deliver my thoughts. Simple words, to say much of what I had at heart. Simple words to appreciate those that push me to be who I am. Simple words for how else could I say it than that?

Poetry evolves much around language, and our choice of words. The simplicity and complexity we chose all make up to it. You may chose to shoot direct, or simply make your reader turn tables as they grasp the whole concept. Your words, move your audience, and with them, they carry along enormous power to heal or break depending to whom your message is directed to.
